Hey, I’m Flic 👋
Meet hostess Flic (Felicity) Blades, the Birmingham based artist that believes creativity is the key to being happier and healthier.
Born in south London, UK, Felicity Blades is an artist and illustrator who lives in Birmingham. She studied Womenswear Design at UAL and worked in a range of fashion roles throughout her 20’s. Now she runs her own creative events business.
Flic’s company started as a Drink & Draw evening at a local bar. She hosts a variety of workshops with the aim to make art accessible to everyone in an enjoyable and relaxed way. More recently Flic has been designing creative workshops with a focus on well-being using the principles of art therapy.
“For me, being creative is about having fun, experimenting and enjoying the process. I have designed my workshops to embody this spirit. My aim is to always be accessible, whether that relates to participants artist experience, knowledge of art history or general background. From an early age I think people are put in a ‘non-creative’ box, which frankly, isn’t true. Every single person is creative and it’s just about being given a space to explore whatever that looks like. In my workshops, I strive to put everyone at ease and provide guidance to spark inspiration whatever their starting point is.
What are my events all about?
Alongside my solo events I also love to collaborate and create unique experiences. I've hosted drawing nights, collage workshops, drag life drawing, supper clubs with a creative twist, team-building for companies and worked on a series of creative well-being workshops for mental health charity Living Well.”
